Are You an e-Book Lover?

e-reader

If you borrow e-books through our library, you may have noticed that the selection of titles is shrinking, and many of the titles have holds on them.  This is due to the difficulty that libraries, publishers, and Amazon are having determining a fair way to lend electronic books.  In fact, several major publishers refuse to make any of their electronic titles available to libraries at all.

These publishers refuse to sell or license eBooks to libraries:

  • Macmillan Publishing
  • Simon & Schuster
  • Penguin Group
  • Brilliance Audio
  • Hachette Book Group
If this is something that concerns you, please consider contacting the publishers and telling them you would like to read their electronic books through your local library.
